The meteor was here, it was getting closer.

What was she going to do? Her son, her young, wonderful son. What was going to happen? She huddled closer to him, slowly accepting their fate.

"Mommy? Why is everyone running?" The boy asked, oblivious to the situation. He looked up to her, only curiosity showing on his face.

She thought quickly, "We all need to go move on sometime, sweetie. It's natural." The mom managed to say, despite the terrible feeling in her stomach.

"Oh." The young one look toward the sky. His eyes fixed on the blazing rock that would surely cost their lives. "The stegosaurus said it's 'cuz of that thing in the sky. She said it'll hurt us. Hurt us real bad" Her son said, his innocence saving him from what that really meant.

Trying to scare you one last time before she left." She had lied, trying to keep back her tears. They were going to die, her and her son. Oh god, they were going to die and he'd never understand.

"Oh."

The mom faced toward the meteor. It was close now, it won't be too long. She looked down at her son. Not like this, she won't let him... die like this. She dropped her face to his and lovingly nuzzled him one last time. "Let's play a game, okay? And then we can join the others. You like games right?" She suggested.

"A game?! What kind of game will we play, mommy?"

"Let's play pretend. It'll take us to where we want to be."

"How do you play?"

The mom looked to the meteor, a couple seconds

Jessica Risner Heather Ward English 1101-41 October 5, 2015 “Love You Forever” Literary Analysis One of my favorite stories to read to my daughter is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. The story is about a mother who sneaks into her son’s room, once he is sleeping, and sings a song to him. She sings to him these words “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be (pg. 14).” My favorite part about this story is that once her son is a teenager, and even a grown adult, she still sneaks into his room and sings her song to him.…
