I put my sweaty hands in the air as the workers buckled me in and my brother shook his head at my apprehension. My mind was racing a mile a minute as I vaguely heard them explain the rules of the ride. I was jolted out of my frantic thoughts as the ride started.

We started going up the hill. With each tick my anxiety grew and I wanted to pass out just so I could get off the ride. Eventually we reached the top and paused just long enough for me to regret all of my decisions. Then we started falling. My screams and shrieks that flew through the air were soon replaced by laughter and

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

Well I had gone to Six Flags and when I had got there I was so anxious to get on every ride in Six Flags but then I had heard a person on the Goliath scream ”stop the ride” it was so funny and scary at the same time. Then I saw that almost every ride had so many twists and turns and even circles that go round and round. Last year I had gone on a roller coaster which was the Mind Bender and it wasn’t so scary. The Mind Bender had so many circles that go round and round.…

I got comfortable with the rollercoaster as if I became one with it. I waved my arms up high enjoying the crazy loops and turns. The rollercoaster went inside of a dark cave that blinded everyone. Water splashed on us like an atomic bomb as we exited the cave. Maybe this rollercoaster was not so bad after all.…

We got to the hill that would lead you to the ride. There were only five people in front of us. As the five went off on the ride we got on a two person raft like thing and the person controlling the ride had said, ¨Are you ready¨ We said yes, I should of put my goggles down because the Scorpion was so fast that I thought I was going to fall off. I saw the cloudless blue sky. I saw the Ferris wheel moving up and around, allowing its riders to look across the park. I saw families walking around together; laughing, eating, and smiling. I watched as the coaster went around the loop, accompanied by more screams. I saw the Tower of Terror in the distance, knowing people were on that ride right now screaming and falling in the dark.…

As I was brushing my teeth, I remembered what my cousin Sam had said to me the day before. "I, Sam Duncan," he declared, "am getting you on a roller coaster if it's the last thing I ever do. " I had laughed and said he was crazy. I was terrified of heights (I had fairly major acrophobia).…

But then when we got to the top, we paused, getting a great view of Sandusky Ohio. Then creeping forwards all I was was the ground, I couldn’t even see the track...then ZOOM!!!! We started to fall and twist and jerk, and all I did was scream, at the top of my lungs, “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” , all I could hear was Claire, my mom, and my uncle laughing their heads off at me, but I didn’t care, it felt good. By the time I was finally able to open my eyes, we were going through the second gate, and I thought I was going to hit my head, so I ducked, and so did everyone else.…

I was determined to conquer my fears of heights and roller coasters. The day was growing old and the sun began to set. We had been standing in line for what seemed like hours. My legs ached from standing up and I was longing for a refreshing drink to cool me off. I honestly thought we would never make it to the ride; that we might as well turn around and go home before I could whimp out again.…

We inched our way to the top of the first incline, when I heard someone say they felt sick. I thought I was going to lose it, I strongly considered jumping off of the thirty-one story ride. We finally reached peak height, and were about to descend the hill when my life flashed before my eyes. I grabbed Mike’s hand and squeezed my eyes shut as if my life depended on it. Within forty seconds the ride was over.…

However, just as I said this the spiritless roller coaster attendant strapped me in permanently ensuring I couldn’t back out. After the attendants strapped everyone in, they did their whole spiel on how we were going to have a great time, but the words muddled in my mind as I was more focused on breathing. The car moved onward and screeched at us as if in warning. Then suddenly the car stopped, I’m pretty sure just to spite us.…
