Metacognitive Journal Assignment: The Four Personality Types

Decent Essays
As I opened the Metacognitive Journal assignment, I clicked on a link and it brought me to a survey of questions called the Personality Test. Going through the test, I was very unsure about many questions so I chose the uncertain answer for most of it. It felt like the test was never-ending however, I finally finished and I was relieved to see the end of the test.
My results were Extravert, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. I believe that the four personality type’s best describe me except for Feeling. Feeling says that I have eye contact with the audience which is incorrect. I do not like talking in front of a group of people because I am very shy. My face usually turns red and I tend to mess up on when I talk in front of an audience.

The Waterhouse Center was an incredible experience and an appropriate use of class time. The activities served as an informal way to get to know our peers, as well as an opportunity to analyze our own behavior. As a member of group “A” led by Bernie, we successfully accomplished a majority of the different events on his property. I will explain how we experienced success and trouble as a group, as well as how I handled my Myer’s Brigg’s typology and Big 5 personality types in relation to other individuals.…

Week 8 Paper Anita H. Bailey 9/7/2014 COUN5214- Theories of Personalities Dr. Raina Krell Chris Gardner puts all of his savings into bone-density scanners, it was twice as expensive as an x-ray machine but with a slightly clearer image. This dream breaks the family, bringing troubles to his relationship with his wife Linda, who leaves him and moves to New York where she has taken a job in a pizza parlor. Their son Christopher stays with Chris because he and his wife both know that he will be able to take better care of him. I chose the social cognitive theory because I see a lot of aspects of his environment and his role as a parent changing. The character lost his wife, did not have a real job and now had to take care of his…

On to the unemotional trait, I do not consider myself unemotional, I do not show emotions besides, happiness and anger, I generally have a neutral expression. Apathetic, I will come off apathetic because my personality type makes most decisions off a logical and analytical approach. Here is a good example, if a loved one is on their death bed, I am not the person crying over them or telling them you will be okay, I am the one trying to help them by bringing them medicine or anything to save them because I know crying over them will not get me anywhere. I am not they type of person for emotional support, if a loved one died I would tell you to essentially suck it up,…

Assessment one “My Basic Personality” showed that I was indeed an ENTJ. Those of the ENTJ personality type are born leaders. They can become frustrated and impatient when things don’t unfold according to their expected plan or time frame, evoking notions of the “Type-A” personality (Drenth, n.d.). Assessment two “Ambiguity” showed me something new about myself. Having intolerance of ambiguity means that you tend to perceive situations as threatening rather than promising (Robbins, 2008).…

The results of my personality inventory indicate that I have a Type A personality (350 out of 380). Type A personalities are often impatient, have difficulty relaxing, and are competitive (Gray-Stanley, 2009). My impatience is evident when I take my dogs out for their bathroom breaks. As dogs will do, they sniff every bush in the yard before urinating and I find myself scolding them for being too slow. In addition, relaxation is not part of my vocabulary at this time as I constantly feel the need to complete homework or study for a test.…

Others the results were right on target and the test described me very accurately. As I mentioned I am a reserved person that I select when I will allow myself to be the center of attention and be part of the spotlight. As a result, I have concluded that I am a very passive person where I tend to stay on the sidelines and observe what might be going on. I was shocked the type of profession would best suit me. All though I have chosen a very different profession.…

I've still got to master about 99.999% of them. My personality is rather hard for me to describe but I will try. I am a person who can be very stubborn and may not always get everything right. I will admit, I have done the MBTI test a couple of times before, so am already somewhat familiar with it. This makes it a little more challenging to work through Professor Sarkee’s process; trying to work out what I believe my MBTI preferences are as I see them. So, I decided to work through the process with an unbiased view, especially because I was interested to see if my personality has slightly evolved after recent life changes and experiences.…

" People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of "(Coelho , 1988). This quotation from " The Alchemist " novel gives me the motivation for my first semester attending at Houston Community College. Going to college is a turning point in my educational life, so I need to have a positive view about my personality, interests, values, dominant intelligences, and keep in touch with volunteer opportunities in my society. Thus, this essay is an essential part for me to portray myself and set out my long-term educational goals. Following all these steps on the Type Focus assessment, I found out that my personality type is ENFP, which stands for extraversion, intuition, feeling and perceiving (Type Focus,…

The Myers-Briggs Personality Test is an assessment tool used to offer insight into how individuals think, function, and thrive (Myers & Briggs Foundation, 2016). The results of my Myers-Briggs Test revealed that my personality was ENFJ, extraverted, intuitive, feeling, judging (Humanmetrics, Inc. , 2016); my temperament was NF, or idealist (BSM Consulting, Inc., 2015). A Worldview is an intellectual, emotional, and spiritual framework by which you view reality, make sense of life and apply meaning to every area of your life (Kahlib Fischer, 2016). On the Relationship between Head Pose, Social Attention and Personality Prediction for Unstructured and Dynamic Group Interactions (Ramanathan Subramanian, Yan Yan, Jacopo Staiano, Oswald Lanz, Nicu Sebe) Abstract It is widely known that social attention and personality traits are dependent upon each other but the position of the head is more commonly used to determine the direction of attention in a small gathering/group. Unstructured and dynamic group was formed and captured via multiple cameras. Social attention features are excellent predictors of the Extraversion and Neuroticism personality traits. Results of the experiment showed that while prediction performance for both traits is affected by head pose estimation errors, the impact…

There are five elements that compose the Big Five Personality Type. These factors consist of Openness to experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, which can also be referred to as OCEAN. After taking the “What Is My Big Five Personality Profile” test, I scored the highest on the Emotional Stability, followed by a three-way tie with Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness; the lowest score I received was for Extraversion, I received a 10 out of 10 on the Emotional Stability category; this means that I am a relaxed, secure, unworried individual. I completely agree with this result, generally I tend to be an laid-back individual that tries to see the positive and rarely stress over the insignificant things in life.…

Whilst studying business in sixth form, I partook in a team for a charity event in which we created and sold our own milkshakes with the proceeds going to WaterAid. One of the main factors that contributed to our success was our overall efficiency and performance. We implemented our own individual skills which allowed us to merge our strengths and progress as a team. We respected each other’s differences and used this to our advantage. Whilst we were all very different, I do feel that these differences worked well and complemented each other’s style of working in a positive way.…
