Homeostasis is something that must be maintained throughout the entire body for everything in the body is functioning normally and is balanced. Homeostasis is defined as, “result of an organism’s systems working together to maintain balance or equilibrium by adjusting for constant changes.” (Beaman). Homeostasis affects the entire human body every second of the day. One important influence of homeostasis is it determines all our vital signs from pulse, respirations, and body temperature. One of the five functions of the integumentary system is regulating body temperature, and that is also a function of homeostasis.
