As the Senior Director of marketing for Cambridge Sciences Pharmaceuticals, I am focused on a series of issues regarding the launch of Metabical. To ensure a successful launch, I, Barbara Printup prepared a report focusing on several questions concerning Metabical.
Current Weight Loss Options
Weight-loss options ranged from prescription drugs to over-the-counter (OTC) remedies to various diet and exercise plans. Metabical compares to current weight loss options with dual-layer, controlled-release formulation. There are two categories of current prescription diet drugs that includes appetite suppressants and fat-absorbing blockers. It’s FDA approved and can be bought only through a prescription. There are less negative side effects as compared to other drugs that are available. Metabical requires that users take only 1 tablet per day with a 12- week support plan. Additionally, Metabical is the first drug that focuses on a particular segment of the market, the overweight segment. The medical community supports the drug through endorsements and the drug has a dual-layer, controlled-release formulation. Chosen Forecast Method
After analyzing the demand forecasts, I would select the second forecasting method for actually estimating the unit demand for 5 years.
Key Considerations Regarding Package Count
During the FDA trials, the majority of individuals reached their weight-loss goals by week 12. Therefore, CSP is expected to be approved as a 12-week treatment plan. To determine optimal packaging, we will implement a package that will display the days of the week, “blister”. This will allow individuals to easily keep track of dosing by seeing each pill and its corresponding day of the week. The purpose of this is to ensure that consumers are taking the tablet every day at the same time.
