Meta Analysis Essay
Meta-Analysis is defined as a quantitative statistical technique of several similar but separate experiments of different and independent researches usually and that studies or involves pooled data for the statistical significance and using the pooled data to test the results effectiveness. Meta-analysis is mostly used to assess the clinical effectiveness of interventions related to healthcare and it does this by linking data from two or more of randomized control trials.
The basic principle of meta-analysis is that there is a common truth behind all of the conceptually similar scientific experiments or studies, but which have been measured with a certain bias within individual experiments or studies. The purpose in meta-analysis …show more content…

4. Deciding which summary measures or dependent variables are allowed.
5. Selection of a meta-regression statistical model.
Characteristics of meta-analysis and individual studies are that they contain and provide vision into the nature of healthcare research and important context for the development of relevant statistical and other methods. Reported meta-analytic information is often incomplete, so incomparably effect on judgment of meta-analytic face validity and any later on conclusions for theory and practice.
Benefits of meta-analysis
Meta-analysis offers an analytic and helpful way of dealing with various practical difficulties that bedevil anyone trying to make sense of effectiveness research.
A meta-analysis of many small studies doesn’t view the outcomes of one large study. Some have dispute that a weakness of the method is that sources of error are not controlled by the method: a good meta-analysis of studies that are designed badly will still result in bad statistics. This would mean that only methodologically sound studies should be included in a meta-analysis, a practice called 'best evidence synthesis '. Other meta-analysts would include weaker studies, and add a study-level seer variable that reflects the methodological quality of the studies to examine the effect of study quality on the effect size. On other hand, others have argued that a better approach is to preserve information about the variance in the …show more content…
A meta-analysis is a statistical overview of the outcomes from one or more of systematic reviews. Basically, a meta-analysis produces weighted average of included study outcomes and this way has many advantages:
• Generalization of results to larger
