Do we owe anything to this early but oh- so- powerful civilization? If so, perhaps the reason should be how this pre-historic civilization has helped us of a future generation to improve and stay organized. It all started with one form of writing- cuneiform. This shows that those of the Mesopotamian civilization were very smart. If it was not for the creation of cuneiform, we would not be able to write right now. Cuneiform did not start the form of English writing, but it was a form of writing that helped those of ancient civilizations to stay organized. If cuneiform was never created, Mesopotamia would not have been organized; other civilizations would have not been organized; other generations, and ours! We would not be safe since no contracts and no laws would have been written down and …show more content…
Although this can be true on, they have taught us how to prepare for many things like the weather. They have contributed to keeping us organized since we know how many days and months there are in a year. We would also know when each season would be arriving and leaving. They respected whatever they had and they used natural resources to live full lives. We owe a debt to them because they saw things different from the other civilizations, since they have seen the Nile river as a god. Also, even though many people believe that the Mesopotamian way of writing is difficult to understand and we would not possibly owe them anything for that, let you be reminded that cuneiform was the first system of writing which eventually led to future systems; which led to ours. We are able to write things down and keep record of things (like time and action) because of the Mesopotamians’ way of writing. Languages developed as writing became more and more advanced; If it were not for the people of this civilization, you would not be reading this particular piece right
