Throughout Global history, there have been many river valleys which play a big role on early civilization and make the important contribution to the world. Three civilization of these is Mesopotamia, India, and China. Mesopotamia is the land that located between Tigris and Euphrates river. This can be considered as the reason why Mesopotamia called Mesopotamia. In Greek, it technically means between two rivers, and obviously this is exactly what was happening. Also, the shape of it looks like a crescent. So in another word, it named Fertile Crescent. A pretty well-known temple in there knows as Ziggurat, which is in a pyramid shape. Ancient Chinese were mainly depend on Yellow River, Huang He. Because of its geographic problem, and the emperor of China makes China isolated. Nevertheless, this doesn't mean they don't have any civilization or achievements. The earliest Chinese writing system is pictographs, which use the drawing and symbols as words. Then it developed into calligraphy. ( Doc 6) Although, modern Chinese won't write in those way anymore. But it definitely helps to organize the society and people at that time. Sometimes later, they “suddenly” notice they can't isolate themselves anymore. Therefore, Silk Road existed. This can be considered as another achievement. It is long like the Great Wall, link up Europe, Middle East, Asia for trading, mainly. In addition, the four majors invention of China is the gunpowder, the compass, papermaking, and printing. However, they didn't get improve after that. Eventually, others countries get more success in those majors, although others invent after China did. As you can see, for each civilization, they have their own achievements, their own special living style. Definitely, those achievements give a positive impact to us. However, none of the civilization could ever never leave the water alone. They all can establish the civilization, is just because of water, otherwise they couldn’t even
