Long ago, in the area now known as Iraq and in the area now known as Egypt, were two different ancient civilizations. In now modern-day Iraq, the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia ruled the land surrounding the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. In now modern-day Egypt, Ancient Egypt ruled the area surrounding the nile river in northeastern Africa. While these two civilizations are two separate entities entirely, they share many similarities. But the many similarities are accompanied by a number of differences. From government to technological advances, these two civilizations have many commonalities or many dissimilarities Geographically, Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia had many similarities. Both civilizations suffered from extreme drought.
