The Church of England states that God creates children and once a fetus is formed it is considered alive. Some believe that abortion is acceptable in such cases where a baby is suffering from a serious disability and would not make it in the world. Protestants either are totally against abortion or are totally for abortion, there is no in-between. The Protestant Christians who are totally against abortion believe that they are the one’s who are truly following God and his word (“Religious Views on Abortion”). Orthodox Christianity believe that by aborting a fetus, one is breaking the commandment of thou shalt not kill. In the Russian Orthodox church abortions are completely frowned upon (“Religious Views on Abortion”). They believe that life is sacred and that God does not make mistakes when making children. In the event that a fetus could endanger the life of the mother, an abortion is permitted. Also, if the fetus has a medical condition that could cause great suffering after birth and later in life. Traditional Buddhists do not agree with these conditions, they believe a human being should never be killed intentionally (“Buddhism and Abortion”). On November 28, 1993, the Dalai Lama said, “If the unborn child will be retarded or if the birth will create serious problems for the parent, these are cases where there can be an exception. I think abortion should be approved or disapproved according to each circumstance” (Dalai Lama
