Meredith’s allure can be summed up best by one word: potential. When I imagine myself at Meredith, I see the potential I have to achieve great things and follow my dreams. My interest in Meredith started at a young age. My first campus experience was at a State Science Fair. While on campus, I was able to visit the doll collection. As a collector of dolls, I remember the feeling I felt as I walked through and looked at each one. I was excited about visiting again to spot what comes next. The amount of degrees offered and the potential for studying abroad are equally alluring. Both are extremely important to my college education. …show more content…

My teachers would try to help and offer words of encouragement, but then the testing anxiety would kick in and my grades would

I determined after talking with her and her therapist that test anxiety is a common problem among students and not widely recognized by the teachers. If teachers were given the tools to help the students deal with anxiety such as assessments that give students anxiety-reducing choices, would student anxiety decrease and grades improve?. Test anxiety can manifest itself physiologically (increased heart rate, shaking, excessive perspiration, difficulty sleeping), cognitively (worrying thoughts), or a combination of both(Chamberlain, Daly, & Spalding, 2011; Salend, 2011).
