Animals living in the farm are credulous and short sighted, except for Benjamin, the donkey. He is the only animal that can sense abnormalities under the dominion of Napoleon. Taking a broad view, Benjamin represents the minority with limited power. This group of people tends to keep silence and refuse to raise their voices, even though they might be right. They choose to follow the norm instead of initiating a movement. Until the end of the book “Animal Farm,” Benjamin stays out of trouble and refuses to get involved in the farm’s situations. In fact, the author Orwell barely mentions him unless Benjamin’s appearances warn readers about the illogical revision of Napoleon. The plot in the story reminds me of the harsh and merciless reality. Without questioning and doubting, people believe in anything that they are told, hence, they will end up in the similar situation like animals in the Animal Farm. Once leaders gain supports from civilians, leaders can manipulate their beliefs and alter the truth. Without forces to control commanders’ power, they can become dictators, who care about nothing but benefits for themselves. The existence of this particular supremacy threatens adjacent areas as it is the ideal model in the eye of the governor. As mentioned in the last chapter of the book, Mr. Fink plans to adapt his farm to a similar system of Animal Farm. He eagers to earn the same or even more benefits that Napoleon receives
