So, we can define the different functions of a mentor: teach the mentee about a specific issue, challenges the mentee to move beyond his comfort zone, provides guidance and encouragement, shares resources and networks, etc. In general, a mentor focuses on the mentee’s total development making him more self-aware taking a close look at himself, his issues, opportunities and what he/she wants in life.
