“Mentoring Model of Moses and Joshua” The transition from Moses’ to Joshua’s leadership frames one of the amazing examples of mentoring in the Bible. As a result, there are six steps in the mentoring model of Moses and Joshua. The first step in this mentoring relationship of Moses and Joshua, they were carefully chosen (Selected) by God. Knowing each would be the best or most suitable for their shared also individual task or position. And yet, when called by God for position or task, He will totally equip those persons. However, neither Moses nor Joshua was fully aware of the preparation for this transition. “The name Joshua means (the Lord is salvation) and he was born in Egypt. Joshua was the successor to Moses also the man who led the nation of Israel to conquer also settle the Promised Land. Besides, this man went through the great events of the Passover also the Exodus with Moses, as well as all the Hebrew people who escaped from slavery in Egypt at the hand of their Redeemer God. Likewise, in the Wilderness of Sinai, Moses took his assistant Joshua with him when he went into the mountain to talk with God (Exodus 24:13, NLT). In the book of (Numbers 11:16-29, AMP), the correction came as Moses rebukes Joshua for being jealous of Elad and Medad for prophesying (God’s gifts). Despite it was God’s doing, “Joshua was outraged that spirit of God had landed beyond the seventy leaders whom he has been asked to assemble. Not to mention, he was outraged that two others, two ‘nobodies’ from the camp had received the gift of prophecy at the same time as the leaders. Joshua had an exclusive mindset. Therefore, he wanted the anointing only on the chosen few. Even with God being the bearer of the gift, Joshua had the audacity to ask Moses, their leader to tell Eldad and Medad to cease and desist from God’s gifting (www.hiskingdomprophecy.com).” Joshua was being immature in attitude and thinking considering God he can work through
