Mental Retardation is developmental disability that first shows in children under the age of 18. It is stated as an intellectual functioning level that is under average and certain limitations in daily living skills. Most people that are mentally challenged see things very challenging as other see effortless. Living skills, social skills, and also comprehension are few of the difficulties of the everyday life of a Mentally Retarded human. This illness can be caused in many ways. Trauma before birth, such as an infection or if parents drink alcohol, drugs, or any other substances. Of Mice and Men relates to this illness. Lennie has mental problems. The character kills innocent animals because of the lack of normal instincts. The mentally challenged man had many inaccabalilities. Having the urge to kill mice from getting carried away of their texture shows the relationship to being mentally retarded. With that being said, mental issues can make you do things that are very unusual but they have no control over it. It’s just the fact that they lack in some areas. Some may not have common sense, some may struggle with living or social skills. Being categorized with them doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t do anything or be successful in life. Limitations are there only if they put there if they set a standard on their own life. Even some of them are hurt to hear they can’t do this or that which makes them work harder to be successful in life. At the end of the day we are all humans, a select few don’t allow people to even help them because they want to be independent and have so much pride in who they are and also want to be a role model to show others that they are capable of doing anything they set their mind to in life.
In today’s world mentally challenged is now called “intellectual disorder”. Which all means the same thing. The research all states that mental retardation and intellectual disorder means that they have a certain learning problem. Disabilities can surely be a stressful life in some
