Mental Illness is referred as a wide range of disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness are depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia. People often have a hard time thinking straight and have a handle of their emotions that can cause problems in their daily life, such as at school or work or in relationships. People with PTSD have reoccurring nightmares of the event over and over again which in turn causes sleep deprivation and mood changes. Most likely the brain took all of the information of the traumatic event and all of that information took place in the brain and since it is kept there it allows the person to keep on having this reoccurring dream over and over again. The Brain chemistry changed in that person and with the added environment he was in, the emotion he could not process and the psychological damage had causes gave this person Post traumatic stress disorder. There are people who had such experienced the same as the one with post-traumatic stress disorder but don’t have it at all. Why is that? Let me tell you that those that do have Post Traumatic Stress disorder maybe Having little or no social support after the event, Dealing with extra forms stress after the event, such as loss of a loved one, pain and injury, or loss of a job or home Having a history of mental illness or substance abuse and no money or being alone with no one’s …show more content…

Genes impacting serotonin activity may also play a role (Henriquez et al, 2008; Soo-Churi et al, 2012; Gazer et al 2008, Franke et al, 2010). There is a great deal of evidence that AD/HD runs in families, which is suggestive of genetic factors. Recent studies suggest that anywhere from 40-60% of children of adults with ADHD will also have the condition (Biermann et al., 1992; Medina et al, 2003; Barkley, 2008). As stated above there are various genes like the receptor DRD4 and D2 and DATI that causes one to developed Attention-deficit attention disorder and because of these damaged genes and if parents has it is most likely that their children with have this mental illness which is provided by the recent studies that 40-40-60% of children of adults with ADHD will also have the condition not only with these genes but also because of Exposure to environmental toxins during pregnancy.
