There is nothing anyone can do, they will put on a smile and pretend to be happy around the people they love, yet they still end up thinking “what is the point?” They want to get better, they hate being the person they are, they just do not know the way out, and they are too scared to come forward. There is not a specific type of gender, race, or age group that can get “mental illnesses” Anyone can have an “illness.” However, young teens have a higher rate than adults for having some type of disorder. Mainly because adults have already found the help they need. In the essay, “I Am Adam Lanza’s Mother” by Liza Long, she mentions that her son’s social worker said “that the only thing I could do was to get Michael charged with a crime.” She did not feel that is was a necessary thing to do so. Nowadays even people we depend on cannot help us in the way we need it, which leaves us with no options. Mental illness is just a phrase people hear often, yet few people know what it actually means or what it is like to have one. Unless they personally know someone with or them, themselves have a mental illness, I advise people to not judge anyone with it. People struggle day by day to fit into this nasty and cruel world we live in. No one is comfortable. Be nice to people in general not just the guy you see at the hospital. Not everyone shows the same
