In America people are on the rise of being diagnosed men-tally ill. Being mentally ill is usually passed down through genetics. There are many types of mental illnesses people are affected from daily. These illnesses call for potent prescrip-tions which just make the patient numb to their surroundings. The solutions are effective in most cases but if used wrong can cause serious damaged to the mentality of an individual.

Psychoanalysis is in many people’s opinion the most helpful. Psychotherapy they find the root of your illness from your conflicts during your childhood. Psychotherapists believe this puts the patient at ease and leads them to better mental health. During psychoa-nalysis they let the patient speak freely during therapy ses-sions to track down the source of the problem. They patient may react towards the treatment as they were reacting to their unresolved conflicts. When the patient is not uncomfortable talking about their problems that’s when they are finished with treatment. These methods may be effective but take many sessions and cost thousands of dollars. Some therapists use hypnosis because some patients repress some incidents from their past. The hypnosis helps the patient remember passed conflicts they have erased from their conscious. This finds the root of the problem. Another tactic psychotherapy uses is group therapy. Group therapy is where the psychologist (thera-pist) takes on more than one patient with the same problem. Some patients prefer to be in groups instead of one on one therapy. Group therapy helps the patient know that they are not the only one with that same problem. It makes the patient feel more at ease.
