I concur with your statement pertaining to professional obligation of duty to warn and protect and confidentiality. I also agree, mental health professionals are obligated to protect clients for foreseeable harm to themselves and other. Secondly, every mental health professional is considered a mandated report and is charged with reporting all unethical treatment of conditions of either the workplace and the treatment of clients. Henderson (2013) explains the crucial for mental health professional to become familiar with state and local codes. These understand further enforce their obligation as mandated reporters to protect clients safety, professionals have to meet a comprehensive requirement through education, supervised clinical experience examination, and knowledge of the expectations that must be upheld.
