While working for a startup, micro-sized accounting firm founded by my wife’s uncle, I found myself with the responsibility of leading the organization’s payroll service. In such a setting, this duty encompassed virtually all facets of business functions including sales, developing uniform system processes, managing information technology, nurturing client relations, and completing the payroll operations just to name a few. Our team would find that in order to stay ahead of the deadlines from week to week, we would often need to work 50+ hours each week.…

As a person I have been a diabetic ever since the age of three. However, I have been able to manage both my diabetes and my education and have been proud of this. Even though I am diabetic, I like people to view me as myself rather than my disease because my personality gives off who I am, not the diabetes. I enjoy taking on challenges as it leaves a learning experience for me and benefitting from it. As a person, I enjoy doing community service as it makes me feel involved that I am helping my community rather than being the person who just goes to school for their education and not to do anything else.…
