The media has created a false stigma for those living with metal disorders, by regularly portraying characters with mental illness as problematic, uncontrollable and violent. Larger than life negative characters have been repeatedly displayed on the big screen with these stereotypical cliché behaviors, and used as the focal point, or “hero” of the movie. Silver Lining Playbook is not just another one of Hollywood’s inaccurate depictions of mental illness. The book ''Inside out and Back Again'' by Thanhha Lai, relates to the universal experience of fleeing and finding a home. Many refugees, including the character Ha from the book ''Inside Out and Back Again'', go through a lot of sadness and worries because of war, or any reason for fleeing. '' Inside Out'' which is the first half of the title, means a turn of events in someone's life, or something bad is awaiting. The Premise Forrest Gump is a movie detailing the life of an Alabama born man with a low I.Q. In a very realistic fashion, the audience follows Forrest as he grows through his life. Trait theorists focus on the measurement of traits and believe that to better understand personality we should focus on an individual’s traits and characteristic behaviour(Saul Kassin,; 2003). Using the five-factor model of personality, trait theorists can develop different kinds of questionnaires, such as the NEO Personality Inventory, to measure a person’s personality traits (Costa, P.T. Jr. and McCrae, R.R, 1992). With this data, researchers can describe a person’s personality using the 5 global factors of the five-factor model. 1.There are multiple mental illnesses portrayed in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest as the setting for the story is a mental institution. The narrator is a large Native American who feigns deaf and dumbness. This character is an excellent study in the evolution of a mentally ill individual along the path of finding a semblance of normalcy, although the phenomenon is the result of interactions with a decidedly psychopathic or sociopathic man, McMurphy, played by Jack Nicholson. Surprisingly enough, John Carpenter’s The Ward stars everyone but Alice as the women of North Bend Psychiatric Hospital fight for their lives against an unknown demonic entity. As each of the girls begin disappearing from their ward one by one, it is revealed that the aforementioned entity is actually Alice and that the other patients are nothing but delusions representing the various pieces of her fractured personality.
