To think that even young children who are supposed to be looked after and cared for are not safe from society’s passiveness to mental health disorders is daunting. Research taken from a random survey of over 3,000 people (age eight to fifteen) by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) found that “13% of children had at least one mental disorder in the year prior to the survey and close to 2% of respondents had more than one disorder”(Mental Health). As children and holders of the future, they should taken care of and provided for instinctually, but with society’s clouded mind on mental health they are not. More commonly children will usually start with an oppositional disruptive disorder (ODD), which is known as a gateway to a conduct disorder ( Mental Health). Conduct disorders cause a lot of problems between the ailing adolescent and their family, friends, teachers and peers. When living with a conduct disorder, it has been noted that the patient may run away from home, steal, initiate fights, use weapons like guns,knives or bricks or bully and threaten others along with other violent behavior (Mental Health). This type of behavior can easily ostracize someone. And because mental health are disregarded as blemishes on society, teens are forced to deal with and fight through these hard times on their
