Mental Health Counselor Roles

There are three roles that a supervisor will take with a mental health counselor such as, teacher, counselor, and consultant. Along with this roles of supervising there are skills that are also used to supervisor a person which are, intervention skills, conceptualization skills, and personalization skills. The teacher role is process of showing the specific concepts of how to research a case to see what reading are aligned with the concern at hand. For example, the teacher role, director Janet can suggest that Michael carry a counseling skill handout while working with patients to assist him in documentation and strategies how to discuss client’s feelings.
