Imagine helping people overcome fears, addictions, and giving someone of any age a happier life. Mental Health Counselors work with individuals with psychiatric difficulties. This is a very rewarding career because a person can witness a person mentally grow. Mental Health Counselors are important to the community because helping relieve stress can avoid unnecessary pain and suffering to an individual. Counselors days can be very stressful when in a working environment but once they leave all information stays in only the workplace. Being a counselor may be a stressful job for some people due to its nature. It is a busy job writing notes and taking many patents a day. The environment of a counselor can consist in many public places. Your day could take part in hospitals, schools, or even a separate counseling specific building (CareersinPsychology.org,) . In conclusion counselors could be found in a variety of public or private places where one is needed. A counselor's schedule is sitting with patients and talking to them, making sure they are safe while also taking down notes and possibly admitting disorders(O*NET Online). In this job a person is obligated to keep what patients tell them confidential unless it is threatening to themself or someone else.All in all a counselor's job can be widely found.
