I use the advocacy process to not only help my clients one on one but also in the community. As a mental health counselor I must be able to provide a sense of empowerment to my clients. I must be able to encourage clients to be a part of groups or classes and find support from community originations and/or friends. As a counselor I must be able to fully empathize with my Clients in order to have social change occur. As a mental health counselor I must be able to be a voice for my clients in the community who otherwise wouldn’t have a voice. Taking on these sense of “justice” for my clients would be a start to have changes occur within environments. I must also have a sense of awareness not only for my clients, but I must be self-aware of
