Ans. On completion of my M.A. Mental Health Counselling program, I would like to serve at a hospital setting in IL. I am a resident of Illinois and would much prefer working with a licensure at a hospital and is situated in Evanston. I would like to serve the patients that are emotionally, mentally and psychologically disturbed and, are struggling with their lives. I would like to work with adults that have gone through a trauma and need emotional healing. In particular, I desire working toward specialization in cognitive therapy.
Evanston is a place that populates persons in different neighborhoods belonging to various economical, ethnical, and racial, gender, and sexual oriented people. Even though the city is populated with so much diversity, there are more chances that the majority is marginalizing those that are in mourning and loss and have not sought or received justice at the hands of systemic evil. This is crucial to one’s life. Two years back, I lost my mother and I personally know what it was like to go through it and process that, through at the same time, I cannot fully empathize with another who has lost a loved one. I feel concerned for people who experience loss of a friend or kindred and are so depressed that they decide to commit suicides. Death or accident is a reality; one cannot deny nor challenge it. Whether it comes unexpected or one is aware of it, it is a truth that one needs to deal with. As humans, we lack courage and intelligence to deal with.
