Mental Health Care Website Summary

Carey Counseling Center offers medication management, therapy and case management as its basic mental health services. One important aspect of mental health with the most improvement over the past few decades is medications used to treat mental health symptoms. Abilify (aripiprazole) is one of the newest a-typical anti-psychotic medications that help block dopamine receptors shown to influence the symptomology of such things as hallucinations, delusions and thought distortion in schizophrenics, to name a few (Shirley & Perry, 2014). Bristol-Meyers Squibb, is the maker of abilify and CCC utilizes their website along with pharmaceutical representatives designated to help medical staff with new scientific research and other common uses for their products. BMS’s website is very informative to CCC staff, but the most impressive portion of their website relates to consumer needs. The patient assistance program is often met with mixed reviews. Pharmaceutical companies make such large profits, they get little applause charging the amounts they do, knowing insurance will pay, and then offering free meds to those without insurance. The assistance program helps several of CCC’s clients who do not have insurance and are unable to afford the much needed medications without assistance. As a supplier of medications to CCC, our organization often utilizes their website for much needed information on Abilify, and assistance with clients for medication costs.
