Schizophrenia is a group of mental disorders characterized by psychotic features, disordered thought process and disrupted interpersonal relationships. Psychotic features would be described as hallucinations and delusions. In patients with schizophrenia, disturbances in affect, mood, behavior and thought process occurs. There are several types of schizophrenia. Some of the common types are paranoid, disorganized, catatonic, undifferentiated, and residual schizophrenia.
