It is not only genetics but the society’s image of what makes a man, a man. Men are, at a young age, are forced to – yes, forced: proven in Kimmel’s article – follow these “rules of being a man.” These articles prove that how society is very cruel to men because they are taught not to be “week” or show no “emotions.” I think this will leave many men traumatized, dissociated, and often unknowingly sick. For instance, my uncle who died from cancer. He never went to see a doctor. We knew that something was going on with him. When we offered him to go to the doctor but he refused and gave some excuses that he was fine. One day he was in an awful condition where he couldn’t move at all and he decided to see a doctor. However, it was too late because he had last stage cancer. It was too late for him to treat. After a few months, he passed away. These expectations of behavior from men encourage drinking, smoking, and depression that cause early
