Growing up you notice the major differences among men and women besides the physical appearance. As a child, you see boys play with cars, girls play dress up, and play with their dolls. You notice these things as you get older and always wonder why men are complete opposites from women. In his book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, Mr. Gray looks at the communication styles of men and women. Being with my boyfriend Alexander Baez, I learned to realize that the majority of his attention would go to his car. He would constantly compete with his friends especially on looks. They would go on hours talking about their motors, rims; head lights, and interior. In the end, it would only drive my boyfriend to keep updating his car. This is similar to the author’s view because not only is Alex obsessed with cars, he started his own car group named “Clean Society.” So every Sunday night he and his friends would meet up at a car wash, and clean each others cars or ride around. In addition, they install these huge stereos to their system and compete to who systems were louder. It would drive me completely insane; constantly hearing about cars and what he should do next. I would catch my boyfriend on eBay trying to purchase different car parts, headlights, rims, wiring, systems, and embellishments.
