Memphis Police Officer Career Paper

As I began to grow older, I have made a career choice to become a police officer with the Memphis Police Department. I chose to become an officer when I first came to Memphis, and I seen the work that they continuously do in the community. I want to be able to contribute to my community, and protect the citizens. I find a thrill and challenge being able to solve and investigate crimes. To become There are many factors I must research and take into consideration. I have researched the salary of a Memphis Police officer, as well as the requirements, and the work load each week.
REQUIREMENTS
In the research that I have conducted, I have found that to become a police officer it requires that I have education beyond a high school diploma. I must study at least 54 hours in a college that is accredited regionally. While seeking the 54 credit course hours, I must maintain a c average of better. If college is not a choice that I want to take, I can also join the military and remain active for at least two years, after the two years I must depart service with an honorable discharge.

A lot of techniques will be taught during training while in the police academy. As a recruit, you will study self-defense, and physical training. The Memphis Police Department has a fitness training program for new recruits. In training, recruits work on agility and body endurance. In this program, recruits must keep an average of 75%.In this program, there is running, pushups, and obstacle courses. These exercises test your endurance, strength, will power, and flexibility.
