Implementation Process
A typical implementation process are steps taken to create, provide and set up a new technology or software within a facility. The steps are dependent on the organization and the size of that organization, its available resources, and the types of services that are provided. There are basic steps that can assist in the process and make sure that implementation is successful as well as the organizations plan. The typical implementation process should include creating a plan, outline or workflow, selecting team members, process analysis, installing hardware, training, data conversion system testing, and preparation. When there is lack of belief in an organizations project the rate success is low. During proposal and evaluation by Memorial Health board, physicians displayed disbelief and decrease of productivity while providing patient care. Reviewing or surveying the board members, physicians, and all those projected to use the system, would help Memorial Health organization reach their goal to improve the pace of the system being implemented, wiping out organizational inertia. Once those involved understood the belief in the project there and sufficient leadership placed in roles, with a great knowledge of their responsibilities, this would turn around insufficient leadership. Sufficient leadership will spearhead the project, communicate and provide updates in a timely manner. Leadership support is needed at the beginning of the project, in this case four years ago, giving the hospital enough time to plan, review all concerns, and collaborate on a remedy to address them, taking in consideration of uncertainties as well. To address project complexity, it is important to take consideration of your team players, staff resources and how the project will affect their current workflow during and following the completion of the project. One should start with the initiative process of a plan, goals, selecting team members, and informative updates. The board member’s and those involved with using the system should have belief in the project, team collaboration, and most importantly sufficient leadership. The scope and the timeline of the project must be precise without any objectives that could cause failure to reaching organizational goals. A recommendation of regular updates though out this project and pilot program for all those involved to provide additional feedback before and after using the system to combat change, and uncertainties are needed. These steps are highly recommended so that others should not make the same errors and become successful in implementing a new system or technology in their
