In the small town of Magnolia, Texas there are many different choices on where you can send your teen to high school. Two of those choices being iSchool High, a non traditional semi public charter school, and Magnolia West, a traditional public high school. The structure of education and academic differences between iSchool High and Magnolia West are profoundly diverse. Comparing the two facilities raises some intriguing questions. By sending your teen to Magnolia West, could it be holding them back academically?…
The intimacy of knowledge and higher education is vital, from the birth of civilization, men have valued the potency of academic literacy. Before embarking on my high school journey at Sayreville War Memorial High School I was told to join clubs. Sophomore year I attended the September SADD meeting. SADD stands for Students Against Destructive Decisions and it is a club that encourages students to confront the daily risks of living in the world today. The advisor, Ms. Corrales, would always pick an issue in society for each meeting and provide us with the best tools to go about handling the issue. During my sophomore year, she invited me to the NJ Regional Conference with our executive board.…
I moved from San Diego, California to Derby, Kansas in the summer of 2017. I joined Derby Middle School, I hadn’t been to a real middle school before, even though I was in seventh grade. I was in online schooling with K-12 at home. I was new to multiple classes and teachers, assignments on paper, and I was new to a lot of people around me. When I joined Derby Middle School, I thought of it like nothing, thinking that no effort would get me through the year, I thought that my grades didn’t matter as long as I get C or higher.…

Over the summer and part of the spring I made a slow transition to move to Incline. I was only nervous about making friends because I didn’t know if they would like me. The first time I met all of the girls in my grade was at the 6th grade orientation. I was still going to school in Truckee when I went to the orientation my school was having their 6th grade orientation as the Incline Middle School was having theirs. I never wanted to move when I first heard that we were going to then about a month later I was a little bit more ok with it.…
A job paying more than minimum wage is challenging, but getting one right out of high school is rare. What if I told you that if you graduate from Weatherford High School with a $10 or more an hour job with only a semester of course work and clinical training required for the certification. You would be delusion not to think this is a good trade off. Most students at Weatherford High School are not fully aware of the health science and technology’s (HST) program that has collaborated with Weatherford College to provide students with continuing education programs such as pharmacy tech assistant, emergency medical technician basic (EMT-B), and certified nurse’s aide.…
Before attending Wilmington Early College High School (WECHS), I was not satisfied with my personality, nor was I happy with the way I was perceived by other people. Most would think that I should have been confident because in middle school I was in the AIG program. However, I never truly felt satisfied with myself. I always got good grades, but I never felt like I earned good grades. Although I was making straight As and Bs, it was always relatively easy to earn those marks in middle school.…

Allen’s Case Study Madaline Becker Millersville University Introduction: At the age of ten, Allen is in the end stages of ‘middle childhood’ – a time when “many children experience good health and steady growth as they master new athletic skills, learn thousands of words, become less dependent on families.” (Berger 2008, p. 321). This time, which extends from ages six to eleven, is a time marked by the growth and maturation of the child, in both body and mind, a time when a child is learning how to interact with the world and those around him, both physically, socially, and emotionally (Berger 2008). Children will transition into elementary school, if they have not already, as well as face the transition from their elementary schools…
