Memorial Day Short Story

Have you ever had to help a family member with his or her job? Well I had to him with his job one time. He asked me if he would help him out during the Memorial Day sale at his job was having so I happily agreed. Plus, he was going to pay me for helping so that was a plus. The day started at three o’clock in the morning, which was really hard for me cause love to sleep in late. I got up, brushed my teeth, got dressed, and grabbed a drink on the way out the door. Then we got in the car and headed out on our way. We drive about five to ten minutes before arriving to the Frito Lay bin in Cumberland, which is where my father starts his long day. There is a large metal fenced around the building with massive strands of barbed wire around it so people can’t break into the …show more content…
I couldn’t believe the people were out there walking and doing everyday things at five in the morning. There were also many people sitting out in the parking lot. We got there before the delivery doors opened so we had to wait out in the truck. After twenty minutes or so they finally opened the doors and we started unloading the items out of the truck. My father has to share a small space with the other vendors that comes to deliver things. The first thing we did after we unloaded out truck was getting our delivery checked by the stock room manager. She has to make sure that the order is right while checking that awe don’t sneak anything in there that we shouldn’t. I had to open all the boxes one by one while my dad told here the product name and how many were in each box. After we got the “ok” from the storage manager, we have to scurry around the store trying to fill the shelves before the store fills up with customers. If we have any chips left over, we just take them back to the storage room and keep them there until next week. After we finished up packing the shelves, we pulled out and headed back to the bin to put our next order on the
