Under this silky sky of red, blue, and white are their hearts of valor- forever asleep in a gentle tranquility. Yet, that calm peace should not be underestimated. Although they lie in a slumber, their bravery restlessly courses through us. The vivid flames and the roars of their courage still take breath into every step we are able to take. It is for that courage that when the sun may touch us with its glimmer from above, we can arise to it with outstretched arms. The hope which illuminated their souls became our sacred source of light in times of darkness- and it still shines in a form of innumerable brilliances upon our night sky.
However, the meaning and origin of Memorial Day is too often overlooked in the frantic buzz of a day off. As
