How to write a Positive Memo.
An interoffice memo is one way that a manager or anyone else sends information to others in the same office. In order to communicate effectively, there must be a meeting of the minds. The definition is communication is the ‘transmission of information and meaning from a sender to a receiver’ (Guffey & Loewy, 2014, p.122). How can we do this?
There are five necessary steps to ensure effective communication:
1. Sender has idea
2. Sender encodes message
3. Sender selects channel and transmits message
4. Receiver decodes message
5. Feedback returns to sender
Each of the previous steps is essential to constructing an effective communication (Guffey & Loewy, 2014, p.123). Omitting any step could lead to miscommunication

Once there is an idea, the sender must decide how to compose the message. The next step is to select a channel that will be the most effective way to communicate the message. The correct channel can make all the difference in effective communication. When the receivers get the message, they must understand the message. The feedback returned to the senders lets them know whether the message was clear or not.
The memo written to the employees had some major problems. The tone of the memo was one of anger. It sounded like parents yelling at their children for doing something bad. Modifying these two things will change the overall feel of the

Assignment 3 Kirstin Cain 9000736 1. How did you recognize the emotions you felt: through physiological stimuli, nonverbal behaviours, or cognitive processes? I recognized my emotions mainly through physiological stimuli, like my heart racing and my breathing increasing when experiencing anxiety or the tension in my neck when irritated or angry. There were times when it was necessary to control my nonverbal responses as to not send mixed messages during a visit, i.e. when I was amused by a cheeky response from a teenager when his parent was attempting to discipline him. After analyzing why I felt uncomfortable or discombobulated, I used cognitive processes to discern that I was feeling vulnerable while asking for help and out of sorts after missing my morning coffee.…

This sends and receives and send back type of the dialogue may often include frequent interruptions of thought flow, completions of one's sentences by the other, and eventually a clear understanding of the message being discussed. As discussed, all of these techniques are necessary to open the channels of communication, and importantly, each person involved in the communication process should assume both roles of sender and receiver throughout the discussion. The ability to know one's audience, identify barriers, empathize with how messages may be received, actively and intently listen, and provide feedback or question confusing concepts will ultimately induce a good arena to communicate within. One example is in a personal setting when an idea is being communicated to my wife from me.…
