Human sex trafficking is a prevalent global issue and has been a problem since slavery was introduced to the world and has been a growing global issue since the 1400’s. Sex trafficking occurs when someone is forced to perform a commercial sex act such as prostitution, pornography, or commercial sex for any payment of value in return such as money, food, shelter, drugs, or clothes. Second to drug trafficking as the most profitable form of transnational crime; annually, millions of men, women, and children are being trafficked in and to different countries worldwide, including the United States of America.
