Persuasive Speech On Global Warming

Earth is a very delicate planet and it is at the mercy of humans. Humans have been causing disruptions in the Earth’s atmosphere for far too long now and it is time to finally make a change. Global warming has been a huge debate for a long time, but now it is time to realize that it is real, and it can destroy many living things on this planet, including us. This memo is to show the problems and some ideas for improvements to help the environment. What are the problems? One huge issue is global warming, which is caused by chemicals building up in our atmosphere that hold heat on earth, rather than going further up into the atmosphere. One huge chemical creating this issue is CO2. These gases are being emitted by humans at an alarming rate. …show more content…
There are multiple ways that are shown as evidence of global warming and deterioration of the environment. Some evidence of these changes are the changes in the sun, volcanic eruptions, and the increase of carbon dioxide in the environment. The evidence of humans causing these issues is also very overwhelming. Scientists have used radiative forcing, global climate models, fingerprint attribution and detections, and atmospheric measurements to see obvious relations the atmospheric deterioration and humans. The environment is being destroyed by humans and it is about time we did something about …show more content…
The first and foremost thing we can do to help is by reducing our energy demand. This can be anything from not driving as much to not using our heaters or air conditioners as much. For example, our car exhausts release bother aerosols and greenhouse gases: which are water vapor and CO2. These are two things that we do not need more have in our atmosphere. If we can find a way to both drive less and less emissions of these things from our car, then we are one step closer to creating a healthier environment. We need to become a more energy efficient world, rather than wasting energy. The next step that we can take to becoming part of the solution is to electrify everything. This means that our cars, heating, air, and water should all be created and functioning using electricity, rather than fossil fuels. This will create much less of a need for fossil fuels, which is the main reason that the atmosphere is deteriorating as fast as it is now. Another big step that we need to make is to use renewable energy for electricity. Some examples of these are using wind, solar, and biofuels for electricity. People may say that these forms of energy are too expensive, but this is wrong if you look at the big picture. Solar and wind energy are definitely more expensive in the beginning, but the savings that are created over many years actually end up less costly. Using less fossil fuels creates a situation where we don’t lose as many crops or have multiple

The disadvantages are the cost up front and some of the technology is not adequate enough. The more solar panels the companies have the less pollution there will be. The cameras will also stop pollution because they can detect gas and they can collect it before it pollutes the environment. The cameras and solar panels cost a lot at first, but they save money in the long run. They will only have to pay for repairs.…

Although the report recommends other renewable energy, it still recommends wind power due to the savings that arise from the use of wind energy and from the elimination of fossil fuels import. The wind energy sounds a good alternative considering the costs savings and the saving on environmental pollution. However, it does not consider other factors such as the low wind intensity and reliability. According to IWEA, the prices of fossil fuels are always changing and are expected to increase in the near future. This is to mean that people will have to look for alternative sources of energy to cushion themselves from the increasing prices.…

Gas is a nonrenewable energy source and we do not have an abundant supply, because it takes millions of years to form. Replacing the use of these fossil fuels with battery power will save gasoline so we have more in the future in case batteries fail . If batteries ever do come to naught, gasoline is still available for use, but not as a permanent power source, instead it will be used as a substitute. We would save an abundant amount of fossil fuels if we switch to non gas cars. Electric cars are better than gasoline cars.…

Transport is another great contributor of global warming. This is because vehicles release harmful gases such as carbon dioxide. To minimize this effect, mass transportation systems can be applied instead of having many vehicles and also avoiding the use of high-carbon fuels for vehicles. Renewable energy usage for instance wind and geothermal, minimizes pollution which in turn reduces global warming. The use of fossil fuel energy should also be done away with.…

The pollution created by most petroleum vehicles is a big cause of global warming. As pointed out by: Siena Kaplan, Brad Heavner, and Rob Sargent, "Plug-in cars ... produce less global warming pollution, emit little or no pollution from the tailpipe, and reduce our dependence on oil” (Plug-in Electric Vehicles Will Reduce Air Pollution). One of the most important things we need to consider, is where we get our energy. Some parts of the country obtain their energy from coal; which is not a clean source of energy for pollution reduction. The energy source we need to advance in, is clean energy.…
