Melungeons And Mountain Wives Series

Happy weekend. Finally have another book up on Amazon. Like my other recent books, it is free in Kindle Unlimited.

I've really enjoyed writing this series. The time period and setting fascinate me and it was a turbulent period historically in America. Kyles Ford in Hancock County, Tennessee, feels isolated in time. My girl from Niagara Falls, in upstate New York, has a little fish-out-of-water experience in adjusting. Of course, many of the characters from Wildwood Flower have roles in this story as well, even the interesting Melungeons and my moonshiners. This is the description of the book I posted on Kindle.

Runaway Slave Punishments and Devices Kindred is a great book by Octavia E. Butler about a young woman that goes back in time into the Antebellum era to save one of her ancestors named Rufus. He is her great great grandfather. He lived in a somewhat southern state at least south enough at the time for them to have slaves. Their family didn’t treat the slaves as bad as some families did in more southern states but they still treated them as if they were still their property and technically they were. So if the slaves did something they weren’t supposed to do they had a punishment some worst than others depending on what they did.…

The Regional stories in Unit 4 are "Longfellow in the Grass" by Emily wingspaneson, "The Celebrated Jumping Toad of Calaverous Country" by Mark Twain, and "The White Herring" by Sarah Ohrne Jewett. In "Longfellow" the reptillian race is represented are unassuming and inspiring for their hard-working nature and desire to overthrow their mammalian masters in the violet pachyderm race. This first work of pseudo-science fiction was notoriously panned in its day, but showed the creativity of the Northeast American. In Twain's work, he represents Canadian-American life through animal races of all sorts, which ultimately leads to his own death.…

I have been on a craze on finding good New Adult novles to read. I noticed that most of the New Adult has similar plot-line, girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, boy has some form of big secret that would destroy their relationship. To be honest I am not too convinced of the general yet, with the all too familiar storyline I am afraid it would become redundant. Searching through Goodreads, I come across Fallen Too Far, I heard good thing about the author, along with good reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I was glad! Blaire is only 19 years old, but she have been through lot more than her typical peers.…

This book was appealing because the history of Native Americans has always been an interesting subject.
