Melinda is petrified to start high school this year and it does not make it better she is alone. Melinda fears on the first day of high school was more intense because many people at school our angry with her which makes her feel like a outcast. On page 4 it states, “And I don’t have anyone to sit with. I am a outcast” (Anderson pg 4). On the bus Melinda sat alone everyone on the bus, but her had someone to sit with. Even her gym buddies from last year would not even sit with her. Neither would her old lab partners, so she just sat there alone (Anderson pg 4).
