I still wanted to compete so we went just around the corner from my old dance studio, to Bridget's Dance Academy. We missed the placement prep, so they threw me on the team with my age group on it. I remember my first teacher being Mrs. Katie. She was a really nice teacher, and liked sassy jazz a lot. Everyone in that class was talking about things that I have never even heard of. They were saying words like double, triple, calypso, and fouette's. I always thought that I was one of the best dancers ever, when I was just learning the basics to dance, at Huntington School of Dance. When I first walked into the room, I was happy that I seen some of my friends from my old studio there and that I wasn’t going to be the only one starting new. When we first started class, everyone on the team sat in a circle and we all had to say our name, how many years we've been dancing and our favorite genre of dance. After everyone went, we went over those terms I said earlier. I thought everything we were going over was super hard. Now I think of that stuff easy, (except for fouette's). After we went over a triple the teacher said "Who wants to try fouette's," I figured it would just be four turns
