Mel Gibson is a very productive human being, he is a very good Actor, Producer, Film Actor, and Director. Mel had a rough childhood growing up, even though he made it through and became an outstanding man, who loves, cares, and appreciates his family and what he gets. He was born on January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York. Mel’s parents were Hutton Gibson and Anne Reilly who loves and cared for him. They’d do anything for Mel and there (ten) other children. Mel was the sixth out of eleven brothers and sisters but, he was only the second child of Hutton Gibson which made him have one brother named Donal Gibson. That made the other (nine) kids step brothers and step sisters. Mel once said “There’s nothing more important than your family” …show more content…
Mel had a rough young life as well as his siblings. Their father was injured at work really bad one day, which put him out of work. He couldn’t work to make money to provide for his family anymore, so the company gave him a reward check for $145,000. He family lived off of that until they ran out of money, they were pinching for pennies. While Mel was younger he got a job, he did what he could to take care of his dad. He got used to not being able to do much with his dad because of his injury, he felt bad so he came up with games that they could play while Hutton was injured. Mel took care of his family all throughout high school. He thought to himself how he was gonna make it and he sat down and said to himself “okay i’m going to get through this” (The Atlantic Monthly Group, 2018) and he strived for greatness. He went to Asquith Boys High School, a very intelligent student he was, he had perfect grades, always on his bes behavior, the teachers loved him. After high school he wanted to go to college for Drama, he attended St. Louis Catholic College. He Graduated college in 1976, once he started …show more content…
He then began appearing in title roles in classical productions including Oedipus and Henry IV. In 1984 he was in the film called The River, “after this performance, Gibson became very well accepted and received in the acting atmosphere” (YourDictionary, 2018). Everyone loved the way he acted and got into the scenes, he was a very intelligent guy. He decided to take on television. He landed his first role in Australia called Mad Max. The show made over a hundred million dollars. Mad Max was very popular, everyone loved it. The views were an outrageously amount. Later on that year Mel received the AFI award for the Best Actor. He won the award for a patriotic idealist in Peter Weir’s 1981 World War I drama. That’s when he got his spot back for Mad Max 2 so it could be produced and put on Tv. He was a really amazing actor and still is. Mel is 62 years old and still pulling through by acting and producing. Mel will never give up on his careers until he dies, he loves what he does and doesn’t want to let it go. Mel soon became really, really popular after the second Mad Max. Every film producer wanted him to come act for the and be in their movies. Mel could only do so much at once. He was turning down offers left and right until he found the right movie to act out for and be the top of their movie line. His worth in 2018 is $425 million, he is close to being one of the richest actors in the world.
