The Megalodon Shark was the largest predator that ever lived. Its teeth could reach sizes over 7 inches. It also had the most powerful bite than any known animal in the world. The word Megalodon means "Big Tooth". It went extinct because of the lack of prey and increased competition from predators. We found out about the Megalodon shark because of its teeth (which were found in Africa, North America, South America, India, Australia, Japan, and Europe)because of its teeth. The shark eats large animals like whales and great whites (even its own kind). The Megalodon lived through the Neogene Period which was a major time period for Earth.
