“I can’t stand this! I’ve had enough. I don’t ever want to have to see those mean people again! I’m running away!¨ Meg cried out. She grabbed her quilt and sneakers and quietly headed for the door headed to the outside. The wind whistled loudly as she trudged through the cold, wet air down the block. She had put up with it long enough. So she wasn’t the smartest person, so what she enjoyed playing around, so what if she wanted to stick up for her family? What was so wrong with everything that she did? She hurried to run through the storm trying to escape town before the tornado hit. She felt unloved, unwanted, unliked, just un-everything. She wasn’t good enough, and she never would be. Just then, a thump of thunder roared, making Meg jump back. …show more content…
Jones holding a tray of breakfast. Meg was still shaking at the thought of everyone’s words that had been thrown at her. Ms. Jensen sat her down at the table in the room, and asked her one question. “What’s wrong my dear?” Meg shuttered at even thinking of the question. So much was wrong, nothing was right. She explained how everyone’s thoughts about her were still taking over her head, and how she never wanted to return back, not in a million years. “Oh, honey, you can’t seriously let those people get to you! Your parents love you, you’re always looking out for people, and you just like to have a little fun. And as for your smarts, I’m sure you’ve got lots. Now, I think you should go on home, and show them that you are fine just the way you are! Who cares what you look like or how you like to have fun? It’s the inside that counts. The emotion and kindness. C’mon, the storm has just passed, let’s get you on your way now.” Meg put up a fight, she couldn’t go home now, her parents would be furious that she ran away!
