Meeting With Ananias

Improved Essays
Paul’s salvation occurred before his meeting with Ananias. Paul’s willingness to do whatever God wanted demonstrated this fact. (Acts 9:6) Whenever someone gets saved they want to please God. While Paul awaited further instructions, he prayed. (Acts 9:9-12) Prayer is a sign of salvation. He talked to God and God talked to him. God revealed this to Ananias. Although Paul was blind, he had never seen more clearly. He experienced God’s amazing grace. The song “Amazing Grace” beautifully expresses this experience. “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found. Was blind, but now I see.” Blindness describes Paul’s condition concerning to God and spiritual matters, but now he could see them

INTRODUCTION When a child misbehaves, loving parents discipline the child in a way that corrects their behavior. God the Father is no different, “For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives… For what son is there whom his Father does not discipline?” Though Christians aspire to be perfect and they are commanded to pursue excellence and Christlikeness, they are not without blemish. In 1 Corinthians 5:6, Paul questions the Corinthians rhetorically, “Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?” Because Christians, the members of the Church, are not perfect, measures must be taken to ensure the purity of the church is protected.…

The knowledge and sight is immediately given based on Matthew 11:25-27 and 2nd Corinthians 4:6. Matthew speaks on that Jesus came to give the light to all and show that God is faithful to give the knowledge of the glory of God. Paul writes to show that there is a discovery of the divine glory and excellence that God and Christ have. Also in Psalms 119:18 when the psalmist asks the Lord to open his eyes, the psalmist is asking to see more the light that God conveys. The product of divine light is that the natural man can become spiritual; the spiritual man sees the glory of God from the Divine Light.…

[24] For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope for what is seen? For in hope we were saved ties to the redemption of our bodies (v 23) in the future bodily resurrection from the dead, we were saved. Humanity is saved from the certainty of death, with the promise of eternal life. Interestingly, Greathouse and Lyons point out, “This is one of those rare times when Paul speaks of salvation in the aorist tense as a completed action.”…

Several decades after Jesus’ accession and promise of his return, many early Churches struggled with what they consider a delay in Christ's return. In waiting for the triumphant return, the Church found itself in a quandary. Conversely, they diligently worked to faithfully fulfill the evangelical command given by Jesus upon his departure, experiencing growth and expansion. Although, Jesus warned of the cost of following him (Luke 14:25-33), those who chose to accept that cost, found that the perceived delay in his return, in conjunction with the continuous threat of death, was taking a toll even amongst the most pious (1 and 2 Thessalonians).…
