Personal Narrative: Meeting My Professors

Meeting My Professors At the begging of every college students career they get the same pice of advice at one point or another. Meet with your professors. This year I did just that. I emailed every one of my professors asking them if there was a time that we could meet to discuss what I can do to succeed in their class. Most of them gave the same advice but they were all different in how they went about it. The first meeting I had was with my Foundations Art Studio professor. Her name is Ms. Dempsey. We met after our second class. I told her that I was registered with student disabilities services and I handed her the letter from the disability office. The letter explains my disability and what accommodations that I am able to receive. I told her that I tool this class last year and I failed. She said that she understands why I would be having a hard time in school. She said that if I ever need anything or if I am getting too overwhelmed by the projects or ever have any concerns that I can …show more content…
Griggs, my ACAD 1100 professor. We had this meeting in his office during his office hours. Again I gave him my letter detailing my disabilities. He said that we should not be having any tests, he said that he wants his class to be a place to relax and ask questions. He said that as long as I show up I should have no problem making a good grade in the class. He said the way his class is set up, I will have the opportunity to ask questions not only about his class but about any class. The third meeting was with my Foundations of Math professor Ms. Doroshenko. We had our meeting before class. I gave her my letter and she asked that I try to take the first test in the class. I said that sounds like a good plan. She said that I should be able to do fine because she lets us make a “cheat sheet”, and the homework is open until the end of the semester. She said that if I need any additional help I can meet with her during her office
