Description The Suricata suricatta which is also better known as the meerkat. Meerkats have long slender legs, a thin tail, and a round forehead with a pointy nose. The typical weight for this animal is 2 pounds and is usually 10-14 inches long with a tail that is 9 inches long. Meerkats come ine grey, brown, and tan with a silver tint, their tails have a black tip. The color depends on where they are located. Meerkats have tubular bodies and have a black ring of fur around their eyes..
