Sam said Meek Mill’s song titled “Somehow Someway” helped him identify and relate to rap music. Meek Mill’s birth name is Robert Rahmeek Williams and is known to be a famous rapper (AceShowbiz.com). Meek Mill’s claim to fame was his single known as “In My Bag” which came out in 2011. Meek Mill’s song “In My Bag” did not help Sam identify with rap music and Meek Mill, but Sam believes it is because he did not start to identify or relate to a specific artist or genre until he was older and actually listened to the lyrics of the songs. One of Sam’s favorite aspect of Meek Mill is his style in music. Finally, the third vocal track is a “hype” track, where he adds quick rebuttals, laughs, taunts, and echoes that give the song more of a group feel (Harkness pg. 83).
