People's lives are sculpted by their everyday surroundings, their family and friends, where they live, and even the food that they eat. Every time period has different beliefs, clothing, and governing bodies that give hints as to what the culture would have been like during that time. The Bayeux Tapestry tells the story, in pictures, of the events leading up to and including the Battle of Hastings on October 14, 1066. The story is told from the Norman point of view. There is no English so it is very challenging to confirm or dispute some of the information on the tapestry. It is called the Bayeux Tapestry because it has been kept at Bayeux in France ever since it was made. William's half-brother Odo (Bishop of Bayeux) ordered a tapestry to be made in honor of William's victory at the Battle of Hastings.…

Tapestries originated in Coptic Egypt around 42 AD, though there is not much offered detail wise until about 1300 AD. The earliest tapestries in Europe were called “Saracenic work” because the type of weaving used was known to have originated in Egypt, and later brought to Europe by the Mohammedan army.…

Dear Mr. Clark I read your book, Bad unicorn and it was pretty good. I liked how you added comedy and fantasy elements into the book. My favorite part was the cheeseburger moon and that made me chuckle a ton. I also liked that you took a little girl’s dream and crushed it with a man eating unicorn that can shoot fire out of her horn and burn people to a crisp. I liked that you put a magical book that only the main character could only read and it was just gibberish to other people.…

Magic was seen to be practiced rather than understood and mechanical philosophy believed in understanding the universal laws by physically studying the mechanical laws governing it.
