Peasants were considered the lowest social class during Medieval Time, and due to them being so poor they were often uneducated and lacked basic necessities. In the Knight’s Tale Chaucer was well educated since he was able to read and write while William and his friends were unable to due to their lack of knowledge. Peasants were not really concerned with education, but rather cared more about how are they gonna feed themselves. Most nobles consider peasants nothing more than a source of income. The life of a peasant is an endless cycle of work and fear while the higher ups would enjoy the pleasure of a luxury life. They would find ways to entertain themselves by going to jousting tournaments and throwing rotten food at those who were put at displayed for humiliation. Out of all the social classes, peasants would often go on pilgrims to pray for a better life and forgiveness of sins they
